I was actually annoyed trying to use this. It felt confusing right from the start, and I couldn’t easily figure out how to get anything going.

Looking back, Hooked on Phonics did help my son with reading after a few weeks. I remember him starting to sound out words a little faster and not freezing up as much when he came to a new word, which was nice to see.
That said, it wasn’t perfect. From what I remember, some lessons felt almost too easy for him, and then others seemed to jump ahead quickly. He also got tired of doing the same kinds of activities after a while. So overall, I’d say it works, but it wasn’t quite as smooth or engaging as I had hoped.

The lessons are really easy to follow and laid out in a way that makes sense. My brain loves a good shortcut, and the structure here helped me pick things up without overthinking every step.

I had a smooth experience with the billing part of Hooked on Phonics. I signed up, and the charges were clear right away, with no weird surprise fees or anything like that.

Later on, I needed to update my subscription, and it was actually simple to do. I didn’t have to click around forever trying to find where they put it.

Changing or canceling stuff online can be a pain, but this really wasn’t bad at all. It just worked the way it should

My son actually opens it up on his own most days, without me having to push too much, and the lessons are simple to follow. For the price, I feel like we’re getting a lot, and it’s definitely cheaper than hiring a extra tutor. So far, I’m happy with it.

My kid can usually find their way around without me having to help every single time, which is nice.

My son lost interest quickly, and I had to keep nudging him to get through it. It just didn’t feel very fun or motivating for him at all.
